Complaint Details
I would like to bring to your kind notice that I have an account with ICICI Bank, being S.B. Account No. -17701002205 and the said Account is being operated for more than a decade.
I have a ATM Card also and on 21.03.2016, I used the said ATM Card at AXIS Bank of Guskara, Rly Way Road, Dist- Burdwan, W.B. for withdrawal of Rs. 10000/-( Rupees Ten Thousand) only but the system declined the transaction citing note of only Rs.100/- is available. I tried twice but no Cash got dispensed. Therefore I cancelled the transaction and left the ATM room.
After almost half an hour when I was about 15 K.M. away from the said ATM, I got a SMS in my Mobile to effect that Rs. 10000/- has been debited from my Account. I having never withdrawn the said amount, although attempted but failed due to system declination got perplexed with the said Message and immediately checked the Account through internet Banking and found the same to be true.
Immediately I raised my concerns (twice) through Customer Care of ICICI Bank vide SR No. 405771038 & SR. No. 406734797 & both the occasions I was informed that the transaction was successful.
Then I requested ICICI Bank through E-mail DT 22nd April 2015 to enquire about the same and share with me the proof of successful transaction (Copy of the mail attached)
However, my grievances having not been properly dealt with, Myself by another E-mail dated 13th May (Copy enclosed) reminded again but no satisfactory reply along with documentary proof has been given/received by me.
I was then forced to seek support of my lawyer to understand the view of ICICI Bank vide letter dt 28th May (Copy enclosed). Against this legal notice, I got a reply from ICICI Bank dt 14th June (Copy Attached) stating that the transaction was successful but NO CCTV footage produced to me.
I again requested ICICI Bank thru my lawyer vide letter dt 28th of June 2016 to clarify whether ATM can dispense 100 of Rs 100 Notes and also to produce CCTV footage.
ICICI Bank thru their reply on 8th July (Copy Enclosed) repeated the version and advised me to contact the Office of Baking Ombudsman.
In view of the above, I would request you to enquire and let me know the exact state of affair.
