Complaint Details
Dear sir/madam,
This is J. Shashi Kiran Reddy from Bangalore . I had issues with one of the Patanjali Ayurveda products, hence I dropped a message in their websites multiple times and sent e-mails as well. One of their products has some serious issue (CARCINOGENIC) to be taken into consideration. If they don't give mailing address or don't respond to mails, I don't know how they deal with their consumer complaints. I am attaching my complaint with the present mail and I kindly request you to take this into your consideration and request for the sensible explanation. The requested explanation may help lots of people using that product. I would also want to claim for the loss they have done and also for releasing a product without proper research. I was using this product for more than 2 years and I am sure, this product might have done more loss than any benifit it could have done, hence I want to file a case against them. Please help me with the procedure to be followed in the above regard.

Dear Patanjali group,
This is J. Shashi Kiran Reddy from Bangalore. I greatly admire your Ayurveda products, and have been using them and suggesting people from long. Looking at the details of your products (out of my sheer interest), I found that you are using SODIUM BENZOATE as a preservative for most of the products from biscuits to bathing soaps. Being interested in knowing more about SODIUM BEZOATE as a preservative, I browsed the internet and to my surprise found that it has many dangerous effects (highly carcinogenic when used with Vitamin C), even when used in the permissible amount (I am providing some relevant referral links below). My main concern is regarding Amla juice (which is high in Vitamin C) that your group produce. It is not a healthy drink but a highly toxic drink for the reasons mentioned in the references. I would also want to know why Patanjali group is not using some of the known natural preservatives available rather than the lab made preservatives like SODIUM BENZOATE. When your group boast itself saying that it manufactures Ayurveda products that are purely natural and don't have side-effects, I am wondering then why not you use natural preservatives over lab made ones. I need justification regarding this. Please do proper research when you add-in some artificial flavours ,colours, preservatives to your products. I would expect justifying answer and recommend you to make proper research before boasting about your products. In case if I don't receive a proper explanation from your group with references in this regard, I shall file a case in the CONSUMER COURT.
