My son & I travelled internationally from Cairo to Chandigarh (Cairo-Abu Dhabi-Mumbai-Chandigarh) on 2nd July 2016.
On reaching Mumbai, we found our 4 nos. of checked in baggage’s missing which were immediately reported to the Jet Airways which was the carrier on the Abu Dhabi-Mumbai sector.
We were told that the missing suitcases will be immediately traced and sent to our final destination i.e. Chandigarh. We therefore boarded our connecting flight and reached Chandigarh on 2nd July 2016, with only our handbag.
Our suitcases were delivered only on the 5th July afternoon.
My husband works in Cairo & we are Non Resident Indians & reside with him in Cairo, Egypt. We were visiting India for holidays & vacationing.
It was a great discomfort for us to stay without our luggage and clothes from 2nd to 5th July. As we don’t live here, there was no option for us but to spend money & buy new stuff to survive these days.
It was a neglect on the part of the airlines that our luggage went missing & we suffered due to this.
We had to buy clothes & other stuff to survive these days. I was told at the airport that I will be compensate for this. Till now nothing has happened.
I filed a complaint on 6th July 2016 & till now the issue is no resolved.
