Complaint Details
I purchased a Dell Inspiron N5110 in December 2011.
Ever since I have purchased the laptop I have got nothing but troubles.
The Dell representative kept on pushing me to extend the warranty on the laptop, which I did for 5 years.
Though the Dell warranties are the most expensive, looking at the trend of troubles given to me by the laptop, I extended it.

On 3rd December, 2016 I reported an issue with my notebook shutting down due to overheating.
Though I have a Next Business Day warranty, the Onsite Engineer visited on 6th December.
He torn apart the laptop and shared the PPIDs with Dell Technical Support. While running the ePSA test the laptop shutdown twice.
He informed that same to the tech support. He also added heatsink, system board & bottom base needs to be replaced.
He left the site without replacing any part as he came just to check if the laptop really has any issues.
Which gives me the impression as Dell thinks their customer lies!

When I called Dell on 9th December, I was informed that I have to share the invoice & a Govt ID proof.
Even though the laptop is in warranty, they were adamant to get these details.
It’s obvious that Dell warranty was extended from the date of purchase which Dell has it on the record when I called them the very first time.
Based on the purchase date the warranty was extended.

I informed them that the laptop was purchased from a retail store in Chandigarh. Then I moved to Kolkata and currently I am in Bangalore.
Consequently, I do not have the invoice or I might have misplaced it.
However, I shared my Govt ID proof.

Now on 13 Dec, 2016, I got a call from Dell that they cannot fix my laptop even though Dell's website shows the system under warranty.

http://www.dell.com/support/home/in/en/inbsdt1/product-support/servicetag/7XWYTQ1/warranty?ref=captchasuccess

My laptop is dead since 11 days, Even after paying around ₹ 20000/- on warranty apart from the amount spent on purchasing it.

I am an IT professional and I have huge circle using computers.
Neither will I buy Dell nor will I allow anyone to purchase them.

A highly dissatisfied customer!
