I bought an Asus T200TA 2 in 1 Laptop on 20th of Feb 2016. on the 15th of January 2017, I noticed cracks at the lower part of the display while doing my regular job on the laptop. I checked the touchscreen and it didn't function. There was no trauma to the laptop. I deducted that it may be the low winter temperatures which caused the development of the cracks at that vulnerable position where the tablet is mounted on the keyboard. I sent my wife to the Asus Service Centre on 16th Jan 2017 and they out-rightly told me that I caused the damage and that it wouldn’t be covered within warranty and would cost me Rs. 12700/-. Even if I pay the amount there's no guarantee that it won't crack again next winter. I think this is an issue of the product. This product qualifies for a recall. I honestly feel the T200TA 2 in 1 Laptop has serious build issues and cannot withstand Indian conditions.
I wrote to ASUS CEO desk on 16th Jan 2016, they replied on 17th Jan 2017, took the Service Centre’s address and did nothing. I demand Asus to replace the faulty laptop with a laptop, of similar functionality, which will function well in Indian conditions.
