Grievance Description : Respected Sir/Madam, Myself Prasad U. Vedpathak, Founder of an online community named 'Ur Indian Consumer' wherein I work towards educating Indian Consumers by creating awareness about different types of Products, Services, Consumer Rights and Consumer Grievance Processes. I make educational videos and share them on social media websites like YouTube Facebook wherein thousands of people are a part of this online community. As we keep on facing several consumer related problems on day to day basis we work towards helping each other solve those problems. Today on behalf of our online community I am writing to you seeking help in solving one of our commonly faced problem and that is Refunds from e-commerce websites. You must be aware of the fact that whenever there is a failed transaction in between a consumer and an e-commerce website, then the consumer is entitled to receive a refund against the failed transaction. Most commonly the problem that we face is when we get into a situation where in because of some problem/failure of respective e-commerce website we couldn't complete the transaction but they have taken an amount towards that transaction in advance, we seek to get the refund of that amount at the earliest, but most of these e-commerce websites refund us our amount after 10 to 15 days in some cases they even take more time than that. As a consumer this is simply unacceptable to us that our hard earned money is not given to us at the earliest when it is possible to do so via online money transfer services. We think 48 Hours turnaround time is enough for any of these e-commerce websites to refund us our money after a failed transaction. Hence I am writing this requesting your help for solving this problem by issuing an order to these e-commerce websites, that they should Refund us the amount towards failed transaction within 48 hours or else there has to be a fine imposed Example 2% interest per day on the seller/e-commerce site/merchant for delay and paid to the consumer as a reimbursement. To know how many consumers are facing such problems and will they support such cause, we started an online petition to support this cause on Change.Org website. We started this petition on 4th of January 2017 and till date more than 13,300 people have supported this cause/petition online and the supporters are increasing day by day. For your perusal here I am also mentioning the link to this online petition, to view it please visit https://www.change.org/p/the-department-of-consumer-affairs-get-refunds-from-e-commerce-sites-within-max-48-hours I humbly request you to please look into this matter and help us soon.
