I booked a room in a hotel via GOIBIBO PORTAL on April 28th 2017.The name of the hotel is Gouri Heritage Haveli,Jodhpur.The booking was confirmed,my check-in date was May 4,2017and I received a confirmation mail.On April 30th at 12:20 pm I called up the reception at Gouri heritage haveli to enquire about early check-in.I spoke to Mr.Sohan Panwar who informed me that they never confirmed the booking from their end since the property's lease has ended and they had informed GOIBIBO before.I called up the GOIBIBO consumer care who agreed to cancel the booking.My grievance is about the following points
1.It was very irresponsible of GOIBIBO to confirm the booking inspite of knowing that the property is no longer renting out
2.I would not have known that my booking is not confirmed which would have landed me in 2 big problems
a)I do not know anyone in Jodhpur,I would have been roaming on streets after a tiring journey looking for a hotel
b)I would have receieved no amount as refund since the cancellation was till May 3rd and my check in was on May 4th
3)The GOIBIBO consumer agent suggested that he can search for hotels and book them for me or I book it myself.I agreed to book myself.I realised then that GOIBIBO should be completely taking responsibility of this.However when I called back the agent was busy and was told that I would receive a callback soon.I received a call back hours later,by which time I had already gone through the mess of looking for other hotels and booking one.
GOIBIBO has not taken any responsibility of their mistake,they haven't issued a written apology as well.
4)I am still getting messages asking for a review of my stay at Gouri Heritage Haveli,which is very irritating and also states that there is no coordination between the team.
This gives me an impression that GOIBIBO is just a money making portal least bothered about its regular customer's satisfaction
