I put in a request for shifting of 011-41768137 on Feb 10, 2016. I was in possession of this number for nearly ten years and wanted to retain it.
For a few months, the technical team was unable to conduct a satisfactory feasibility study on whether or not shifting is possible within Vasant Kunj. I had given them the option of shifting to two addresses in Vasant Kunj. Their inability to shift was rather perplexing to me because I got one new connection installed at one of the two addresses and was getting incessant calls for a new connection on the other.
After nearly four months of back and forth, the technical team declined. And all this while I was being billed for my 200GB data plan. This is tantamount to cheating as your records would show you that the number was not in use for even an hour after Feb 10. And on top of this, I was not informed about how the billing would happen when the shifting request was registered.
Therefore I refuse to pay for the three or four months when the landline was not in use. This was duly informed to the collections executives who kept calling and but none of them was able to satisfactorily resolve this for me.
Then in Nov or Dec of 2016, I was called by a lady from your retention team that I had the option of retaining 011-41768137 if I had the landline reinstalled at my C6&7 Vasant Kunj home address. However, I would have to pay an amount of Rs 2,400 towards the settlement of the pending bill. I was happy to accept this offer. She also added that payment had to be made only after due installation and activation of the number.
True to her promise the line was installed and a modem was affixed at my residence. However, the technician promised to come and install the instrument the next day. This is where the troubles began.
1. The number installed was not 011-41768137 but 011-49047653. This is a breach of promise, but I am still okay to retain the number
2. The instrument has not been installed till date. Another breach of promise
3. I have started to receive calls from various numbers with a recorded message asking me to pay in excess of Rs 10,750. Something I refuse to do under any circumstance.
Despite getting emails from Airtel assuring me the account has been settled, I am still receiving calls to cough up in excess of Rs 8,000 now. Despite multiple calls and patiently writing to them and assurances from Airtel that the billing issue has been resolved, I am being pestered with calls (some even threatening) and SMSes.
Please help resolve.
