Complaint Details
I had purchased 4 brand new bridgestone tyres for my car from a dealer named Balaji tyres in Ghatkopar. Within a week of purchase one of the tyre went flat while in the parking when i took it to the nearest local puncture shop the guy at the shop was not able to detect the punture and just filled air he suspected there must be a leak and told me to check if still it is leaking. I took my car to pune and on the way the same tyre showed a little low pressure though it was not flat as a precautionary measure i took it to nearest local puncture shop even they were not able to detect any puncture but on thorough check up four punctures were detected on the side wall of the tyre. As i didn't had a Stepney tyre i had to repair the puncture to continue my onward journey. So i believe the earlier flat tyre was due to this puncture only. I cantacted bridgestone tyres and they asked me to send the tyre for inspection post the inspection the response i got was they denied my claim stating the reason as sabotage meaning being pierced by a sharp object. When i got my tyre back after the inspection the puncture repairs strips which was injected in the tyre by the puncture shop was intact so without even properly inspecting the tyre how they came to the conclusion of sabotage. When the puncture was repaired there was no external piercing or any cut the puncture was very minute and was leaking air very slowly.The manufacturer will find number of ways to deny a claim. On checking multiple websites for complaints against bridgestone tyres the reports are all similar kind either sabotage or hard hitting to deny a claim and in my case also the same this kind of stupidity can happen only in India due to serious consumer protection law these manufacturer are making a mockery of the judiciary and consumers by the way the tyres came with three years of warranty. It would be nice if someone takes a look at these complaints
