Complaint Details
I have July 2007 Hyundai Santro Xing MH 12 DY 9404 with a odometer reading of 26,158 kilometers.
This car was purchased from Sanjay Hyundai bearing Engine G4HG7M159488 and Chesis No. MALAA51HR7M127881.
Since purchase the engince was taking load at second gear with a thud which was always reported however Service engineers says that's not an Issue.
It was observed in April 2013 that the Engine is not taking load on 2nd gear taking an Incline or if the AC is turned on at level driving .
I took it to Kothari Hyundai Service center in Kharadi, Pune.
The Service Supervisor Mr. Gautam told me that the problem is with Crankshaft and needs to be replaced. The estimated expanse is around 35,000 to 40,000 Rs.
In such condition if the crank of the car fails its pathetic workmanship for Hyundai.
This appears that Hyundai Motor India Limited gave me a defective car.
On repeated attempts they are not accepting the Design Issue with the crankshaft.
However after 2008-09 this crankshaft design is changed in newer cars this indicating that there was design error which has quietly been hidden by the company.
There were other complaints that were registered however HMIL managed to silence them.
The car has been single handily driven by me.
For your surprise the car has taken just 2 nos 'more then 100 KM drive'. That too 1 to Goa and 1 trip to Mumbai.
The car has never ever been towed due to any failure. If you look at the service record, the service has been regular.
There has never been any major service work except the regular maintenance needs thus indicating the car has been used well.
There is not a single accident happened with the car and the same gets reflected from the no claim bonus that has been given so far.

The car has been used daily for 6 KM to and fro commutation.
How can an Crankshaft fail whereas the Stock tyre, battery or for that matter not a single major part has been replaced in the car.
Expecting help from you as this matter can result in serious life threatening disaster to me and my family.
