Hi,

We booked our honeymoon travel to maldives (adaaran prestige resorts) for 13th and 14th feb 2018. This was a non-refundable package. Due to the situation of unrest in Maldives and the Indian government (external affairs ministry) circular asking Indians not to travel to maldives- we wished to cancel our reservation. We have been following up with makemytrip for over a week for the cancellation and were assured that our matter was being looked into by higher authorities each time we contacted makemytrip. Based on these assurances we cancelled our flight tickets and also our other hotels (booked through booking.com for which we received full refund without question even those these were also non refundable )

Our booking was for today and despite multiple promises makemytrip trip didn’t bother contacting us with resolution. Instead after multiple calls yesterday and shouting at customer care representatives for over an hour - we finally got connected to Amit Sharma from customer delight team. He asked us to wait 20 mins and he would call the hotel and get back to us. After almost an hour when we didn’t get a call back, we called him back only to come to know at 11:00 pm at night that the hotel is refusing refund and that the only option they can possibly try fighting for is a booking postponement after 1 month.
We were supposed to go for our honeymoon and had taken the month off. We had already told makemytrip that we are both consultants and travel a lot due to which we never get leave at the same time. Getting the leave this time was on account of the wedding and we would not have the same privilege again ( we work for the same firm and same team) There is no way we would be able to go for the trip a month - even 6 months later.

Amit Sharma promised us he will come back to us with a resolution by the next day(today) by 9:00 am and gave us his personal number 8377048707. He didn’t call us and his number has been not reachable since the morning.

This is highly unprofessional of makemytrip - we believe that they did not even bother trying to resolve the issue despite multiple calls from us . They did not even leave ya reaction time to book flights again - we highlighted this on call last night and were assured resolution would be provided by 9:00 am today. So we probably have a no-show at the resort as no one in makemytrip is helping us.

Worst experience ever- it’s traumatic- we were supposed to be on our honeymoon from 9th of feb and we still haven’t been able to go anywhere because we wanted to resolve the matter before booking elsewhere. In our opinion we haven’t availed and service and can’t be forced to go to an unsafe country on gunpoint.
