I purchased Huawei Nexus 6P on 19th Dec 2016 for Rs 29499, after discount Rs 27999. The product carries a warranty of 1 year which expired on 19th Dec 2017. Just after the 13 months of using the phone, it stopped working and upon taking it to the service center they told me that the motherboard has crashed and will have to be changed for an additional Rs 20000. I understand that my phone is not covered under warranty anymore. But this issue is not new, nor is it unique. The phone was launched in Dec 2015 and Huawei has received thousands of complaints regarding exactly the same issue as mine and they've still done nothing to fix their product. After a lot of hassles and haggling, they agreed to reduce the amount to Rs 16500, but I cannot accept that. I earn a mere Rs 22000 a month, I believed this product would last me at least 3 years. My claim here is on the basis that this company knew about the poor quality of their product and yet did nothing to fix it. It is appalling how such corporate giants get away with fleecing people like me and get away with it, without a scratch.
