I had lost my phone on 27th April 2018 which was less than 3 months old.
I claimed to one assist on 28th April.
I was told to provide 3 documents---FIR copy,Invoice copy and Government id.
Provided documents--
Invoice copy,FIR copy,Government id, declaration mail(gifted phone) from my friend with his government id,sim barring declaration form 3 different forms from Airtel service center with sim owner signature and stamps,one declaration statement email from Airtel,one hand written letter with signature,one declaration form from Oneassist with signature,government id of sim card owner and my id,images of all documents.
My friend had purchased that phone for me.
I took device protection plan in my name but sim card I was using was in name of my younger brother.
I was asked to provide following documents again----declaration email from friend with his government id stating that he had gifted me that phone and sim barred declaration form.
I went to Airtel customer care 3 times and took sim barring declaration form 3 times with stamp but oneassist refused to accept and they were keep asking for sim declaration form.
I called Airtel customer care and asked send declaration letter so they sent me declaration letter. I sent it and uploaded it but again it was rejected.
So I asked for application form from oneassist.
So Asif and Yogendra sent me application form and asked me to give details of sim barring,signature of sim card owner and his government id.I attached all required details along with my government id.This was the final document which was required.I waited 3 weeks for reply but no one replied.
I kept calling and chatting but got nothing.
finally I filed complained in consumer care.I got reply that your claim has been processed.Now I got a call and they informed me that my claim has been rejected by insurance company (National insurance) because sim card should be in name of immediate family member (Father or mother)and it should not be in name of brother.
Nobody said anything when I took device insurance.They kept giving me wrong information and kept asking for sim declaration letter which I submitted 5 times.They kept me in dark from 1 months.
They said nothing in policy nor in email about sim card document.I got nothing in written nor in website and suddenly they rejected my claim and closed it.I had gone through 1 months torture ,everyday for same document, i got call,email and text message everyday.When I completed all documents then suddenly they came up saying that sim card should be in name of father or mother..They kept me in dark for one month.I requested to make one time exception because nothing was said in the beginning and keeping me in dark for 1 month.
