Complaint Details
On 4th August, 2018 I had visited the ATM of ICICI Bank in Sagarpur, New Delhi (ATM ID-SEVDA 620) to withdraw money. The amount I entered for withdrawal was Rs.11,500/-. From the ATM I got a total amount of Rs.6000/- only. The denomination of the currency which was obtained from the ATM was: Rs.500x12 = Rs.6000/-. The ATM display screen at the time showed "Transaction complete".
Note that I have a Savings account with ICICI Bank. I immediately called the customer care and registered a service request - SR559544928, with all the details of the incorrect transaction. The executive too promised me that he will raise this complaint and investigate, however, the case was closed on the same day without any investigation done. Subsequently, as mentioned below I have raised many complaints through email/in writing/ call however, the amount of Rs.5,500/- was not credited in my account. I visited the bank branch in Janakpuri D Block and submitted the complaint in writing. The Bank branch staff refused to give a refund of Rs.5500, stating that they would check their records. Subsequently, they said status of the transaction is showing as "Successful" and "Customer Received Money". Hence, I was denied a refund of Rs.5500/-.

It has now taken so long that I am still struggling to recover the amount of Rs.5500/- because there is a refusal of the Bank branch to accept the facts that the ATM disbursed less than the amount entered.
I really fail to understand that, the staff at the Helpline number too stated that I must be paid, then why am I not being given the money owed to me? In similar ways, how much money the bank is looting from its customers whose accounts are getting debited and less/no amount is dispensed from ATM.
Since I have not received the refund of Rs.5500 which is owed to me, I am registering my grievance with you. I have been harassed for a month now for my own hard earned money. Please look into this matter as soon as possible.Now, I have received a letter from ombudsman stating that the whole amount has been withdrawn.
