I booked a flight for my wife from Delhi to Auckland with transit in Australia. On Makemytrip website, it was stated that if passenger has New Zealand visa then there is no need of Australia's transit visa. So I booked the flight as my wife had a visa for New Zealand. When she reached airport, the airline did not allow her to board the flight as transit visa was required. Due to this wrong information on makemytrip website, my wife has to miss her flight and stay at airport for hours. Then I had to book her another expensive flight and had to but excess baggage which cost me almost INR 1,10,000. I tried to resolve this with makemytrip and submitted all the proofs including the screenshots and video recording of their website but they always tried to deflect the issue and then stopped replying to my calls or emails. I hope this is the right platform to raise this issue and bring this to justice.
