Complaint Details
We had made a booking through the EazyDiner app (#2066617) for 3 people for 12:30pm Jan 4 2020 two weeks in advance at the The Table Restaurant in Colaba, Mumbai. At the restaurant, we were informed that our reservation was invalid as the restaurant does not bookings through the app. After much deliberation, we were seated at a community high top table. The man who was working as an usher at the desk was particularly rude and initially flat out refused to seat us. This was very frustrating given that I had a confirmed reservation that was made weeks in advance. While the food and service from the waitstaff was good, the usher (a man dressed in a suit with a mustache) on that day and time was incredibly unprofessional. What adds further insult to injury is the number of foreign diners who were walk-ins and were promptly seated without reservations on proper tables while we were not even with a reservation. The usher was subtly practicing discrimination based on skin color. This is absolutely unacceptable.
