Complaint Details
This is in reference to my purchase (Invoice No. MC/RI/2029/16-17) on the date of 13
OCT 2016 from MICRO COMPUTER, ROURKELA. I purchased a Laptop Namely
ASUS X540LA-XX538D which amount is Rs 28,500/-. At the time of purchase the
retailer told me there is an offer going on by Asus is ASUS DIWALI OFFER. Which is
699 Rupees for 2 years warranty extension for new Laptop purchase. so I paid extra
Rs 699/- to the retailer to get the extend warranty for my device. So the warranty
became a sum of 3 years. So it extends from 13 OCT 2016 to 13 OCT 2019.
In view of above I hereby would like to elaborate the whole issue which has caused
so much ruckus as also would like to bring the fraudulent behaviour of the executives
and ASUS INDIA PVT LTD.
I had faced a hinges problem on my laptop 2017/07/20 and I complaint on that day
only. They sent the engineer on 21/07/2017 and he picked up the laptop. Then they
gave the laptop by solving the hinges problem on 3rd AUG 2017. Then I opened my
laptop in front of them and showed them the scratch and dents in the body.
After that when switched on the laptop by connecting it with charger then the battery
percentage shows 88%. And then when I put out the charger then it suddenly switched
off in front of the engineer. After that they took the laptop on the same day. And the
next day the engineer called me said that Sir by mistake we forget to connect the
battery cable so this type of problem occurred and now the problem is solved. After
this they gave on 5 AUG 2017. Then the laptop got on track for some days.

Then again I faced the problem on 2019 September month and I went to service
centre because I found some problems with AUTO turn ON & OFF. They checked the
WARRANTY status and told me that your WARRANTY has been expired from
12/08/2019. As per WARRANTY extension the date should be 13 OCT 2019. But then
they told me repair only on chargeable basis because the warranty is expired as per
their system record and the service centre advise me for this matter you have to talk
with ASUS and at that time I’m trying to contact ASUS but their Helpline Number
having some issue so the call was not completed after that I contact with them via
email and they reply me in mail Sir your warranty is expired so repair only on
chargeable basis. After that I raised a complaint in National Consumer Helpline on the
date 07/01/2020. After that I got a call from ASUS on the date 08/01/2020 and the
executive said that to send the invoice and WARRANTY extension details. Then I sent
all the documents as per their requirement.
Again I got a call on 14th January 2020 and they said go to the service centre with
the device. And the service centre diagnosis the device and find out the problem after
that the service centre said the problem is in battery. And they said the battery price
will be 2650 Rupees. And They told me that the battery is not comes under the
extension warranty but I didn't know about this. Because it's not mentioned anywhere
when I purchased the Laptop along with Extension warranty. After few days I got a
mail from Asus and they said Sir We have not expired your warranty as per system
the default date is reflecting as you have not register your Date Of Purchase at ASUS.
So it is showing Out Of Warranty but if you register unit from ASUS as per your invoice
it is automatically change and they have denied that the product is not registered their
website. Here I will raised a question that why the date should be change automatically
and if the product has not registered then how it has been showing the end date of
warranty period in their website and service centre Job sheet also. After that they mail
me and offered some discount regarding new spare parts. But I don’t need any
discount.
I just want those left Two Months Warranty period back which they cut from the 36
months warranty period and I want all the issues of my product to be solve by free of
cost. That’s all my requirement.
I have attached all the documents with this complaint for your reference.
