I Had given my wife's baby shower gown to German Laundry for dry cleaning. This was a designer gown and it had cost me around INR 15,000.
German Laundry took over 15 days to deliver it citing lack of manpower due to lockdown initially. Later upon receiving the gown after over 2 weeks, they completely damaged the gown and the overall color was impacted along with small stains and holes.
When I raised with them initially they told me this will be resolved. But it has been over 6 weeks that they haven't resolved nor have they officially given any response to multiple mails that I have sent.
My designer looked at the gown and gave an estimate of INR 2,000 to fix the issues, though it will never get back to original as this would be damage fixing.
I'm really mentally distressed as this had emotional connection for me and my wife for our first child's baby shower. Despite sharing everything with German Laundry on mail and following up with them rigorously, they have stopped taking my calls.
The area manager Yogesh went on to say - Sir kuch kam ho sakta hai kya? As if I'm negotiating for vegetables.
This is clear case of cheating and not owing up to their mistake. They took INR 700 for dry cleaning and have damaged the gown worth INR 15,000. I had simply asked for the damage fixing by paying what the designer has asked for, but they have not responded and challenged me that nothing can be done even if I file consumer complaint.
Please could you help me? I'm happy to share mail chains and evidences.
