Complaint Details
I had availed a Loan on Phone credit card loan from ABN Amro Bank during the year 1997-98 and subsequently approached the bank to close the loan a/c after a period of paying ECS for more 3 years. Verbally as well as in writing requested to the bank during the month of March 2010, but the bank had not taken any action on my closure request. As a result, self approached M/s Debt Doctor India Pvt.ltd., a Bangalore based company offering debt counseling and final settlement of credit card/personal loan pending with the banks. Discussed the issue with the concerned person of M/s Debt doctor, and they told me to register my case with them by paying the requisite fee. As per their advise, self registered/enrolled my name for taking up the settlement issue with the ABN Amro Bank.They assured me not to worry about this pending loan a/c, and they will take care of it till it got settled. Also they told me not to worry about the phone calls and harassment of collection agents as they will take care of that. On their assurance, self heaved a sigh and forgot about the loan issue. But one day the collection agents came in front of my house and created lot of altercations with me. Self at that time tried to contact
Debt doctor people, but one of the lady from Debtdoctor told me that the concerned person is in a meeting and could not disturbed. Self insisted her to put him on the line as the matter is very serious. But she refused to connect with the concerned person and disconnected the phone. After some time, the concerned person contacted me and he had expressed his version and told me not to be panicky, and asked me to give the contact number of the persons who created the problem., I had given the details, but the debt doctor person never interacted with them.

Self used to call the concerned person of Debt Doctor about the development of my case, and he used to tell me like that 'SIR DO NOT WORRY, WE ARE ON THE JOB, AND INFORM YOU AS AND WHEN THE FINAL SETTLEMENT TAKEN PLACE"
On their assurance self kept mum for a long period, say from July 2011 (Enrolled with
Debtdoctor) to Feb 2013(Kotak people came to my house). Self thought these Debtdoctor people are on the job , so need not worry about this. In between (from July/August 2011, bank people also stopped calling me.
But during 2nd week of Fb 2013, when Kotak people came to my house, I realised that Debt Doctor did anything to settle the loan account with the concerned bank. When enquired, Debtdoctor person blamed me that I didnt contact him. I told him that since you told me not to contact you on this account since you are alread on the job.Seeing my temper going up, Debtdoctor person told me "Sir not worry, still we are able to close the account" Self personally visited Debt Doctor office and narrated all the incidence and one of the Manager, namely Mr Manjunath assured me to close the chapter speedily and he worked on it offered me 1.30k as final settlement amount.
Self flatly refused and personally approached Kotak Mahindra bank after a long drive of more than 35 kms and discussed the issue and they offered me 1.10k.
I didnt accept the offer as the outstanding is Rs.1,14k and my demand is 50%.
Now the issue is why Debt doctor Bangalore has not taken any action to close the chapter during the month of July/Aug 2011 and kept the issue for a long time till now.
Due to the inaction of Debt doctor India Pvt.Ltd. lot of problems like financial, mental and unwanted stretching of the loan issue for more than 3 years. Had this Debtdoctor closed the chapter way back in the year 2011, this issue would not have never cropped up.

Suitable compensation is requested for not fulfillng the obligataions on their part and also requested to take suitable legal action against this company for not keeping the assurance given while enrolling the customers name.
Because of this Debtdoctor, am now financially and mentally suffering.
