Haldi Ram Food City, C/O Pratik Food Product ,Vat No 19430928063 ,24 Bally gunj Park Road,Kolkata Charged both Service Tax and Sales Tax in a single product , single amount.
I purchase a 5 Pcs Masala Dosa @ 66.98 Amount Rs.334.90 + Service Tax @ 4.94 % of Rs.16.55 (on Rs. 334.90) + Vat @ 14.50 % of Rs.48.55 (on Rs. 334.90) Total Charged Rs.400.00 vide Cash Memo no – BF2/103965 Dated 05.04.2014.
I asked form cash counter how and why you charged both service and Vat in a single amount i.e Rs.334.90 whenever you not charge any amount of service from me in your cash memo. As per government rules Vat charged on material value and Service tax charged on Service provided amount. As per cash memo amount mention for material only so why we pay both service and Vat on purchase of single items. He refer me to meet with our manager he seat on ground floor. I meet with manager, he tell me this is our common practice. And you must pay for both service tax and Vat. If you have any problem you can contact with our account manager who seat in our Exide branch form Monday to Saturday and give me a mobile number 9339692137 (number not reachable). When I tell him you please ask with him from shop telephone, he refuses.
Now complain is that why Haldi Ram charged both service tax and Vat in a single item. Why Cash memo not mention amount of Service and amount of material supply. This is possible for a customer to go to other branches for take a clarification of wrong interpretation and charged taken by him.
