Complaint Details
I bought an apparel at Lifestyle on 9/2/2014 at Lifestyle store in Pacific Mall, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The MRP was 5995. Discount displayed was 10%.




I was given a discount on MRP and then 5 % VAT was added on discounted price.




The calculation was 5995-(10%*5995)=5395.50+(5%*5395.50)=5665.28.




Following are the complaints



1.When I'm paying 90% of the MRP I've already paid 90% VAT that is included in the MRP.
2.If the company has to pay full VAT included in the original MRP to the govt., the extra VAT charged should be only 5% of the discounted amount i.e. Rs. 599.50 (10% discount on MRP of Rs. 5995)and not on discounted MRP.
3.Charging of 5% VAT on discounted price is only applicable if there is 50% discount.
4.Moreover, displayed discount should have mentioned extra taxes applicable which was not the case.
