Complaint Details
1.0 There is a provision to verify the validity of warranty period of Nokia make Hand Set online.
2.0 On 20.02.14, self approached Nokia Care Centre, Anand Communication, Gole market, Udhampur for rectification of some memory related problems of Handset Asha-306 (IMEI No.355192056146869).
The dealing personnel of Nokia Care Centre intimated that online verification reveals that Warranty Period of the Set already stands expired, so for repairing an amt. of Rs.525/-is reqd. to be paid towards Maint. Contract(Extended Warranty). Since dealing personnel of Nokia Care Centre was confident of expiry of Warranty period as such Rs.525/-was being paid.
3.0 However on verification, it was observed that Set was purchased on 24.07.2013 from M/S Choice Electronics vide Memo No. 32036 & is still under Warranty period. Online verification also showed that Set was under Warranty period. So an amount of Rs.525/- was fraudulently charged by NCC against Extended Warranty despite the fact that the set was under Warranty Period upto 23.07.2014.
4.0 Accordingly matter was telephonically brought to the notice of NCC on 20 & 21.02.14 & also forwarded Email on 21.02.14 requesting to (a). Cancel Maint. Contract (Extended Warranty) since the Set remains under Warranty Period upto 23.07.2014 & (b) Refund Rs.525/-charged for the above Maint. Contract (Extended Warranty)
5.0 However in response to my above communications, M/S NCC is now quoting a fabricated story vide their Email Dt. 22.02.14. for the affair which is unfounded & uncalled for.
6.0 The matter was also reported to “Contact Nokia Support Nokia India” who vide their Email Dt. 23.02.14 & telephonic conversation dt. 24.02.14 informed that ”Nokia does not have refund policy”
7.0 It is therefore requested to kindly look into the matter.
