Complaint Details
Dear Sir,
I had purchased a Phillips LED 39 inches from Kohinoor Television Pvt Ltd. (Laminton road) in terms of the add given in Sunday, March 30, 2014 in Mumbai mirror under exchange. I confirmed to the sales person (Mr. Sunil, Laminton road branch, mo no. 9930366462) that that my 6-years Phillips LCD TV was is working condition and with remote control; I also offered him to send a person for inspection at my residence, 1.5kms from the shop. I was offered a price Rs.25,990/- under exchange for the new television set (copy of the purchase detail attached).
However, during delivery the said TV set, the delivery persons while confirmed that the TV, sound and remote all working fine, there are some technical problem with the panel, which exerts like them could only understand. They call up Mr. Sunil, sales person, who immediately told me to pay additional Rs.5000/-, as the TV was not “like new” or terminate the sale, and also intermitted that I have to pay cancellation charges / processing fee. He ordered his delivery men to return the TV set which had already installed at my place.
I felt embarrassed and took delivery by paying additional Rs.5000/-; however, I feel cheated as the “working condition” is a subjective term. While the LCD is performing fine with colours sound and remote control, it could be branded as not “like new” to snatch another Rs.5000/- from innocent consumers. To the best of my understanding a LCD set that is working for more than five years could be exactly “like new” nether it is mentioned in the advertisement
I therefore request you to do the needful to stop this psychological and monetary exploitation of the innocent consumers under such vogue and confusing advertisements.
