Complaint Details
My airtel account number is 14949477.

I have been using my airtel broadband connection since past 3 years. Till date, my average bill amount has been around

650-700 Rs. I do not have any extensive internet usage requirements, simple email checks etc. I often have the habit of

checking my unbilled data usage. My plan limit is of 3GB.

When a customer clicks on 'VIEW UNBILLED DSL DATA USAGE', he expects to see the amount of data he has already used in his

prescribed data limit of his package. So, this month, a different screen opened up, and I saw the NEW format of unbilled data

consumed by me. The screenshot of which is attached herewith.

As I could see an extended 10 GB limit in my account, I might have downloaded some stuff which might even not be of so much
relevance!!! Being a layman to this and unaware of this NEW format of the unbilled usage page from AIRTEL, I could see that

the limit for this month could be 10 GB for my account. And now the bill stands at an exorbitant Rs. 2571.92 with a
due date of 15/9/12 !!! I am shocked!!!

I am not willing to pay this amount owing to the fact that I was misguided by the NEW interface on their portal. I called up

thier help center which gave me a service request number: 20923872. I also emailed their nodal officer at

appellate.west@in.airtel.com on 29/08/2012 to which Ms. Rashmi Saini replied on 30/8/2021. They all gave me the same answer "Since you have used the data, you have to pay for it. This is the download speed limit allocated to you". Why on earth would I want to check the download speed pending in my account? I have never ever heard of this that people check their remaining available speeds!! Please see the attached image carefully, it says "data consumed/quota available". This is truly cheating on Airtel's part.

I want to know When a customer clicks on 'VIEW UNBILLED DSL DATA USAGE', what should he expect to see???

Please help me with this issue. If it doesnt get resolved through this forum, I would surely want to approach the consumer court. I will not pay for this at any cost.

Hoping for a resolution to this,

R Agarwal
