First of all this is not a complaint. I seek some fact about VAT. I have made an agreement in 2009 with the builder. Hence it falls under VAT (2006-2010. On the agreement value of 79 lac they have chanrged Rs. 2.85 lac VAT and Rs. 1.10 lac interest. The interest component is charged till 31Aug12. I wanted to know whether interest should be charged or it is waived off by the Supreme court. Whether the VAT amount is correctly calculated (it comes to about 3.65%)?Because today's newspaper says it should be between 0.5% to 3%.
