Complaint Details
On the 23rd,August 2012, i bought a pair of pants from the Chemistry store at the Oberoi Mall BST TIN: 27400004772v.Item Dtls : 8902512198218. I wore it for just five to six days and it's has been giving me problem ever since. I hand-wash all my office wear and this particular piece was not an exception. But it seems to have very weak stitching. I had to visit a tailor to get it fixed from a particular place . Just one day after that i noticed stitches coming off near the zip area in front of the garment. I am appalled at the quality of the pants. How can the work be so shoddy? It looks like a very old piece was sold to me.I had asked the sales girl if there was a discount and she said no discount was there since the piece was brand new. If it was an old piece,why was it even sold as a brand new piece to me in the first place? I feel cheated. It has never happened to me before. Never ever. I use brands like Levi's, Benetton etc, never faced such a problem. I went to the store and handed the garment to the girl. She said it will be sent for a quality check. As if i care, i want a complete refund of my money. It costed me Rs 2199. Over and above that i would like to add Rs 10 for stitching that i paid to the tailor and my phone calls bill etc. I need to compensated for the inconvenience caused to me.

I'd like to point out another thing, The girl who i met at the store told me that i should not tell anyone that she gave me a copy of my Bill. What the heck was that? Am i not entitled to a copy of my bill. Of course i am. After two weeks, a customer cannot be expected to keep the bill and the tags. I have all the right to get the copy of the bill because i paid for it. I don’t think they have the right people to service the client.
Yet another thing, the girl told me that that a similar complaint was received before and then all the old garments were removed from the shop floor. She admitted that old stock is sold sometimes. I think it's loathsome. I want the process of refund to be expedited.

The retail head Grishma Desai called me the other day saying that they will not refund my money but give me a credit note instead. I refuse to accept that. How can she have the audacity to tell me this. She said they don’t have the refund policy but why should I suffer because of that. First they cheat me and then they refuse to give my money. I am going to fight this out.

Please note that I had once got a bed exchanged from Mother Earth because it was giving us problem. The company apologized humbly and returned our full amount. If a thing as expensive as a bed can be recalled and money refunded then why can’t a piece of garment be. I am so disgusted at the way the brand Chemistry is handling my case. When I told the lady that I will come to the store and not leave without the refund she said she will call the security guard. Look at her audacity.
