I Purchased a property from this firm on May 30, 2009; I was promised possession of my flat in June 2011, till date I have not received possession, besides now the builder does not seem to budge and is charging 3.82% as VAT for the property purchased. As per recently published articles in TOI, the VAT value should vary between 0.5% to 3%, however this influential builder seems to have a mind of it's own and does not treat its customers impartially. This property is based in Thane, spread across 55 acres with 5 clusters, each having 5 towers of 18 stories, hence the VAT amount should have been low since nearly 60% of the property is open space. I'm a commoner severely feeling the pinch of this extra burden which I was not made aware of at the time of booking this flat. Infact I'd love to extract penalty from the builder for not completing this project on time.
