Hi,

I want to highlight the problem of non-availability of Amul's Milk prodcts (Milk packets and Curd specifically) at General retail stores/Convenience retail stores in Bhandup Mumbai. I have noticed that the milk vendors have stopped vending Amul Milk packets since last 8-10 months and the usual kirana stores do not carry Amul milk packets and Amul curd. I am partly aware that Amul's suppliers and retailers have collaborated against the company to increase their margins faialing which they have refused to distribute Amul's products. Taking advantage of the situation other branded milk companies like Brittania, Danone, Govardhan etc. are selling curd at Rs. 45 whereas Amul's curd is available at large retail stores at an MRP of Rs 35. There is a huge disparity in the prices and the milk companies are deriving an undue advantage of the situation by offering retailers more margins so that they do not stock Amul products. As a result the customer ends up losing as the cheaper priced product is not made available to him. I would request you to kindly look into the matter and take appropriate action in case practices which go against the spirit of law are being followed.
