i had opted for economic sports package in airtel dth which included espn star sports and cricket but airtel suddenly removed these channels and forcing the customers to pay rs 50 more .despite repeated complaints to airtel no response from them regarding this.
1)if you are changing the package then you cannot simply add any channel like sony six and trace sports without the customers choice which no one watches.you have to reduce the price of the package as the customer opts for a package on seeing the channels which are there initially in the package and not the channels which you want us to see subsequently.you can give this option to the new customers but you cannot thrust it on the exisisting customers.you have added these channels just for eyewash and nothing else.so the price of the package should be reduced.

2)what you have effectively done is you have raised the price of the package by rs 50 if you are forcing the customers to pay rs50 for these channels.this is sheer against the consumer rights.any reasonable increase in price would have been more justifiable .the exisisting customer has the right to know on what tariff basis you have increased the price of these channels post november?you cannot increase the price without showing the increase in price from the broadcasters.

3)if you do not value the customers then the customer has the right to get his installation money back after surrendering the connection so that one may opt for some other dth who are more reasonable.so if you are still insensitive then you should return my money and take the connection.anyways trai and the ministry had recommended interoperability of dth for this very reason.
i hope that you resolve this problem by doing any of the above.i as a customer feel that airtel is simply exploiting and these things can happen in future as well just to earn a few extra money.
hope trai will look into the matter and do the needful.
