Complaint Details
I approached HDFC, jadavpur branch, kolkata for Fixed deposit investment. I was forwarded to one of their agent, named mr. deepak chatterjee. He came to my house and claimed that the investment will give 15% pa for one time investment of rs. 1,00,000. I didn't go through the papers carefully and signed the document and handed him the cheque. Later on, for several months , when i didn't get any response from the bank< I kept approached the bank. After several months, they handed me the papers when I realised that my money was split into two annually payable investments of rs. 49,999. I immeiately reverted back to the bank. they now say free look period was over. i see they may have deliberately withheld the documents for this period. After several communications with their service department, after almoost a year of talking, they finally aggreed to cancel the insurance and give me a full refund.I submitted the necessary details and papers (cancelled cheque and an application ) for refund through NEFT on 3rd july, 2012. AGain, They didn't give any response. On approaching the bank on oct, 2012, They confirmed through email on 20th october, 2012 that the refund will be processed in seveb days. Henceforth, whenever, I have contacted the service dept over email, They just say : your money will be refunded in 7 days. On calling the service department, They say they have no information in this regard.
please look into the matter and provide me a way to get the missold policy cancelled and the associated amount refunded.
