Re: Mahindra Scorpio MH 02 JP 7504 RO 13BO18499 (RO Bill No. RBC13BO12193) and RO13BO19039 (RO Bill No. RBV13B000892)

Dear Sir,
The above mentioned vehicle was purchased thru NBS International on 23.04.2008 and ever since, this vehicle has been serviced at your Sewri workshop. On the 22nd of January 2013, I had given my vehicle for servicing. I personally drove the vehicle from my residence to your workshop with the AC functioning all the time till I handed over the vehicle to your workshop. The vehicle was inspected and check sheet having Sr. No. 19446 was issued to me. Approx quotation given was Rs. 7000/-. On reaching home the same evening I was given a call by Mr. Shailesh Metkari saying that there was a problem with the suspension of the vehicle and the approx. cost of carrying out the repair would be Rs. 28,000/-. He called me to the workshop the next day to explain the repairs needed to be carried out and I was given a quotation for the repair work of the suspension. When this vehicle was inspected at that time too there was no mention of any other problem for example the Fan Blower not functioning. I gave the go ahead on the 23rd of Jan to carry out the repairs. RO 13BO18499 was made out at that time. I called on the 27th of January to find out whether the vehicle repairs were done and I could collect the vehicle but was told by Shailesh that the vehicle would be ready only by the 2nd of February 2013. On the 2nd of February, I was told that the vehicle was ready and the Bill amounted to Rs. 19,530.00 which I paid by Cash before taking delivery. At the time of taking delivery, I found the Fan Blower not working so I called the Service Advisor (Mr. Shailesh Metkari) who on calling the Electrician told me that the Fan Blower and Resistor were burnt. The explanation given by Shailesh was that an electrical part could malfunction anytime which I find strange as there was no work pertaining to the Air-conditioning that was required to be done. Here I would like to mention that Motor Care and AC Disinfectant were carried out as per your Service Advisors advice. This could have lead to the bushes and shaft of the Fan Blower getting jammed and burned out. These had to be replaced and RO No. RO13BO19039 was raised. I was once again told to make payment for the same (Rs. 4634.00) which I did with my credit card.
I sent emails to waghmare.ajhay@mahindra.com on 3rd February and 15th February 2013 in this connection which were acknowledged as read by him but there has been no response from his end till date.

Here I would like to point out that is it not the duty of NBS to give the vehicle in the same condition that it was received by them -in this case when the vehicle was inspected before taking for service the Fan Blower was working perfectly and hence the customer should not be made to pay for something that has happened during service. I request you to look into the matter and kindly refund me the amount of Rs. 4634.00 that was charged.

Thanking You,
Yours faithfully

James Rodrigues
