Dear Sir / Madam,
My name is Vaidyanathan from Chennai. This is in regards to the Assembled personal computer purchase from Modern Computers - Spencer Plaza in April 2010. Its been almost 3 years since the purchase.
Recently I started having issues with one of the components in the PC. It is the Motherboard which has become faulty. Motherboard of the PC has 3 years warranty. So I went to the respective service center of the Motherboard for repair / replacement. But they requested for a Bill copy which would help them to replace it using the warranty. But I lost the original bill copy. So without the Bill I will not be able to claim the warranty. I called the Modern Computers store from where I purchased the PC for a duplicate copy of the Bill. I was asked to speak to the HO of the store for the same. When I called the HO, I was asked to get in touch with the store again. So I did call the store back, but I was informed this time that there is some Power issues at the store for few weeks so they would be able to get the bill only after a week. I waited for a week and called the store back, I was informed that the power is not yet restored and the store has been closed as now so asked me to speak to HO. When contacted the Head Office again, there was no response even after contacting many times. Atlast I got hold of a person named 'Pandurangan' who asked me for the details of the purchases which I made from the store, he also wanted me to provide the Serial numbers of the components. I did the same and sent out an email with all the details. Next day when I called up, there was no response, had to call from a different number for him to pick up the call. He said he will send it right away which never happened. Tried calling him again, no response for all my calls.
Today again I tried reaching him by calling the front office number and he got connected. He informed me that he would not be able to generate the bill for some reasons. I explained him that I need the bill for warranty claim and I have provided all the details I have. He again asked me to callback after half hour but after that there was no response. I tried calling the front office again, they would connect the call but it would get disconnected after a long ring.
I don't know what should I do now, this is very frustrating. Isn't the customer eligible for a duplicate copy of the bill? Why am I given a run around. Request your intervention on this to solve the problem at the earliest.
