Complaint Details
Brief summary: I paid my last bill to a representative who wrote wrong account number and overwritten the phone number. Because of which funds were credited into wrong account and airtel is not doing the needful even after providing the scanned copy of receipt and is misguiding through wrong information.

I have disconnected my airtel broadband in first week of November 2012 and paid the last bill to a representative who came to my place for collection. Suddenly, starting January I got phone calls asking me to pay my pending bill. None of the people who called knew the exact details. I spoke to the contact point mentioned in one of their emails and she asked for receipt, I sent her scanned copy..no response, I sent a reminder email after 10 days...no response.

In February, I got similar email, this time I visited airtel office near my house, they told me the problem which is that the representative who gave me the receipt wrote wrong account number and I can get the funds transferred to my account if I go to central office here in Bannerghatta, Bangalore. I visited them but they said they can't do anything(also pointed that the phone number mentioned in the receipt is overwritten) and gave me the appellate team's emailid(which happened to be for mobile connection grievances, later the complaint was forwarded to broadband team). They say that I should give the contact number of person whom I paid the money(This payment was done in November and they are asking for that guy's phone number in March). They are saying they can't process the request because the phone number in the receipt is overwritten.

What bothers me is that lack of response.
1) I used to get a lot of calls asking me to pay the money, even from people who couldn't answer a question like "which month does the bill belong to?".
2) When I sent the scanned copy first time, there was absolutely no response from their side. I have the sent the same scanned copy to them three times as they keep asking.
2)There were several occasions where airtel officials told me that the transfer of money to my account is possible. For example, Pragya from 'airtel pan india Appelete team - broadband' confirmed that the contact number mentioned in the receipt is mine and assured me that it is a only a matter of time for the fund transfer to my account, assured that it is possible and raised a request with the backend team.
3) I can't contact their customer care/appellate team through phone as my account number is deactivated and the IVRS doesn't let me in unless I provide that.

Attaching the scanned copy of receipt.

I have skipped some smaller details to avoid further lengthening the complaint. Please let me know how to proceed further.
