Complaint Details
In the month of August 2012 I decided to make a visit to USA with my wife.
I planned to fly from Kolkata to New York City in Dec 2012 and return after spending about three months there.
To get a good flying schedule and rate I consulted an experienced person in this line, who was earlier with renowned travel agents, and known to me for years.
He promised that through a trusted agent known to him for many years he would help and book our tickets.
After several rounds of phone calls and e-mails one travel schedule was finalized and approved by me.
I was requested to remit the negotiated value for two tickets Rs 143980/- to the agent called “MYAGENT” of Fahim Arcade, Braoadway, Cochin – 682031.

Accordingly, as suggested, I sent the required amount to MYAGENT’s Bank Account by Bank transfer in two installments on 22nd and 26th Sept 2012.
Subsequently, a copy of the e-ticket was sent to me by mail that was issued by Riya Travels and Tours of Mumbai [ http://www.riyagroup.travel/ ]

A few days before our start of the journey, I received a phone call from a person who said that they are going to cancel our ticket, as they were not paid till then. I told him that I have myself got the amount transferred to the account of MYAGENT in Sept 2012.
During subsequent phone contacts by me, the person at the other end were evasive about his identity and I could not convince him that they were supposed to have received the amount.
On our arrival at Kolkata airport a day before our proposed starting date, 17th Dec 2012, we discovered that they had cancelled the ticket.

I therefore request the help of your Forum to get back my money with interest from MYAGENT which was not utilized for my benefit.
