Complaint Details
I had purchased 3 tickets (Nos: 2819, 2820 & 2821) for Rs 70/- each from the Ticket Counter of Star Theater, Kolkata to watch the movie, "Chayamoy" Evening Show at Balcony on 27/03/2013. I came to the hall at 4:45 PM with my wife and daughter to watch the movie on 27/03/2013. I was wearing a descent Three-Quarter Pant and a T-Shirt, but was denied entry in the hall by the security guards on duty for not wearing a full pant. There was a notice being put for restriction on entry for coming with "Holi-Coloured" dresses or coming in a drunken state. But there was no circular or notice being displayed for any such restrictions for coming without a full pant. When my wife and myself had requested them to show any such notice or circular or to give a written explanation for denial of entry, the security guards on duty and the man at the counter had not only failed to show any such notice but they had utterly misbehaved with my wife and myself and denied us to enter the cinema hall. When the general public had also insisted and pleaded on our behalf, the personnel on duty had simply turned down all such requests. My wife and child had felt highly humiliated to be denied entry to the cinema hall with valid tickets on a flimsy ground that too on an auspicious day of "Dol Yaatra". I had instantly filed a General Diary (GDE No 2643, Dated 27/03/2013) with the Burtolla Police Station complaining against the Security Guards on duty and the man at the counter for such humiliation and denial of entry to the cinema hall with valid tickets. I now request you to please look into the case and arrange for adequate punishment of the personnel in the counter and security guards on duty for the mental woes and agony of myself and my family and suitable compensation for such harassment and humiliation of myself and my family.
