This with reference to the subject stating “TIMES OF INDIA (MAGZINE) DEPARTMENT ARE TAKING COMMON FOLKS FOR A ROYAL RIDE VIDE THEIR ADVERTISEMENTS OF SUBSCRIPTION FOR BBC KNOWLEDGE MAGZINE” in your Times of India newspaper dated 14th January 2013. It is surprising and astonishing that the news media house with such esteem acknowledgement can take the common man for a royal ride vide their advertisement with empty promises.
After reading about this advertisement I decided about booking this magazine personally by visiting the Times of India (Magazine Department) on the 15th January 2013 and paid cash and booked this magazine. But to my surprise I have till date not received the subscription or the promised gift of a “TELESCOPE” till date which does not seem to appear in the advertisement about the schedule or time frame of (SUBSCRIPTION & GIFT )despatch. What is more surprising is that the advertisement nowhere states about the delivery schedule or the promised gift of the telescope as to when it will be sent, but the cash was received immediately on the spot of booking. Thirdly why is Times of India (Magazine Department) literally lying to all its esteemed customers about this advertisement and delivery schedule, what exactly is the hidden agenda behind all the false advertisement is to be thoroughly probed.
On calling their customer support you tend to get wage replies and answers towards the booking : “YOU WILL RECEIVE THE SUBSCRIPTION FROM MARCH 2013 AND THE GIFT AFTER 90 DAYS AFTER BOOKING” Isn’t all this in a very bad taste of trust and hope shattered by the Times of India Group for a goof up of sending the subscription and the suggested gift immediately after booking . What is more surprising is that till date (9th March 2013) I have not received the very first subscription even after paying the cash on the( 15th January 2013), is’nt this in a very bad taste and the goof up is even more terrible for one to digest from the Times of India Group (Magzine Department. )If the customer support is replying so casual to the calling customers then why in the first place they did not print it in the advertisement itself as to what would be the delivery schedule and the date of delivery of the subscription and the promised gift. If this is such a lax lustre attitude then why should the customer trust in such a reputed name for any such advertisement in the near future.
All this seems worthless and distorted approach from such an esteemed group to dupe its valued customers in such a gimmick advertisement and further slack attitude in delivering the said magazine even after receiving the full payment 15 days prior to the month. It’s a shame and this needs to be brought out in the print media and update millions of readers of believing in such fruitless advertisements in the near future.
Thanking you,
Yours truly,
Fabian Edward Misquitta
