Complaint Details
I purchased a mobile from the Velachery(Chennai) branch of Poorvika mobiles. They had advertised on Sunday re several SOPs for the Tamil New Year, one of which was free 8GB memory card with Micromax A116. I promptly went to their shop and was told the phone was out of stock. They took my phone number and said will inform me. Yesterday(Monday) I got a call in the evening that stock was available, so me and my father went there. Traded in old mobiles, and was quoted a price, all good. I OKed the new A116 mobile as well. They started billing when the sales person asked me if I needed a memory card. That's when I remembered the offer and asked him. He said the offer was valid only for Sunday. So I countered saying that wasnt my fault as they didnt have stock!! But despite repeated reasoning they refused point blank and completed the sale.
Back home I called up their customer service centre at West Mambalam and spoke to a lady(Bad luck I didnt ask her name!!). Initially she started off politely listening to my concern.
Allow me to clarify here that I wasnt keen on the memory card but my only argument was they didnt have stock, so logically they should extend the offer for that particular model for the next day. Instead they told me that I could have gone to some other showroom!!! What did they expect, I would burn petrol to go from one showroom to the other just for a memory card offer?? Moreover, I tried calling some of their showroom numbers to enquire about stock but all phones were either busy or switched off.
So coming back to the customer care lady, she consulted with her supervisor and told me the offer was indeed valid for only Sunday, and on a price of Rs.14600/- How can I expect a 8GB card on a price of Rs14500/- (This is verbatim what she said) She also said that had I paid a price of Rs14600/- maybe I could have still been considered for the free offer. I told her, in that case I should have been advised so by the sales person, I would have simply paid a 100/- extra happily and finished the deal. To that she said, but ma'am you had already paid 14500/- isnt it, then how could they have given you the card??
I hope you see from the above conversation that she was simply going round and round in circles without giving me a decided answer. In the end I lost patience and banged the phone down.
I then posted on Poorvika Mobiles' Facebook page and expressed my concern (I had written nothing abusive). But lo! this morning not only has my post been deleted, they have also blocked me from posting further!!!
In the past I have commented on the FB pages of several brands, again I do not believe in abusing....and those brands not only replied politely but also helped resolved my issues. And it's not just me, if you check the brand pages, so many users post complaints and concerns and the company replies to them. I have NEVER been blocked before.
I dont care for the extra memory card at this point. I can well afford on my own. But I seek an apology from the company for the mental harassment and insult I have been dealt by them.
