Complaint Details
I am customer of Tata Sky with Subscription Id 1023062738. I used to have connection on Multi TV i.e. One Dish Antenna and two setup Boxes.
On 4th May 2013, I ordered one HD Box to upgrade one existing Setup Box to HD Box. The cost for the same quoted to me was Rs. 1800/- and it was conveyed that the old setup box may be returned to Tata Sky Company. They committed that in case i return i will get recharge of Rs. 300/- and in case i do not want to return i can keep it with me but in such case no recharge benefit will be provided.
My work order for new HD box was served on 6th May 2013 (Monday) and the installer came from following Dealer/service office:

The installer from Tata Sky installed the new HD Connection and gave the receipt of Rs. 1800/- also but took away the old setup box from home. The installer conveyed that "returning Setup Box is mandatory. The cost of Rs. 1800/- for the HD box is applicable only if you return Setup Box." As i was not at home, so the family members (my brother) allowed them to take away the setup box.
When i reached home and came to know that old setup Box has been taken away then i called the office address as mentioned above and also on Tata Sky customer care. I lodged complaint at Tata Sky Customer Care also and they told me that it will be solved. I also called at 092572 90037 (ph. no. of director of Pooja International, dealer of Tata Sky from where i received HD Box) and that person also promised to solve the query. But it was not solved.
Now on 9th May, I talked to Tata Sky customer care again and i interacted with Mr. Mithun and Mr. Deepak from Tata Sky on phone and they conveyed that you have surrendered the old setup box and it will not be returned now. I questioned them that i never surrendered the setup box and how you by default assumed that i want to surrender. But sorry to say, they did not listen to my request and out-rightly rejected it. Rather conveyed that by default you have to surrender the old setup box but nowhere on their website (www.tatasky.com) it is mentioned that you must surrender and by default it is assumed to be surrendered.
I want my old Setup Box back.
