Complaint Details
The complainant bought a product from the website - pepperfry.com run by the complainee company. However, on receipt of the product it was found that the MRP of the same is less than the displayed price on the website. The price paid by the complainant is less than the MRP but the complainee is guilty of an incident of unfair trade practice as defined in Sec. 2(1)(r)(1)(ix). The company is in a practice of luring consumers by providing high discounts on the displayed price and taking an unethical leap over their competitors. The same is anti-competitive and hence prohibited.
