I had shown my interest in buying Honda Amaze ExMt Petrol version on some online portals & was contacted by Ms Gauri Patil, Business Development Manager, 7 Drives Multi Car Company about the same in last week of April. After hearing the initial proposal over the phone, I visited the company office on April 30, 2013 and met Ms Patil. I informed her that I want the car delivery by May end and the booking will be on my same but as I have recently married, hence all my documents are on my maiden name. I was told that the same is not a problem and was promised a delivery time of 15 working days after the booking amount clearance. I was told that the entire process including the loan approval will be taken care off by the company itself. I paid the booking advance of INR 21,000 in cash on the same day as Ms Patil mentioned that payment by cheque would delay the process by 3 working days. All the formalities for the loan were completed by Ms Patil on the spot & necessary documents as asked were provided immediately I was given the quotation with 3 year loan & receipt of cash advance deposit by Ms Patil. My initial preference for loan was for HDFC Bank but Ms Patil insisted on ICICI bank as the preferred bank for 7 Drives & mentioned that it will expedite the loan approval & disbursement process. I was told that the within 4-5 working days the verification & loan disbursement will take place.
On not receiving any communication from 7Drives or ICICI bank over the next week, when I tried contacting Ms Patil, the calls went unanswered. On contacting 7Drives office number, I was told by Ms Patil on May 6, 2013 that she has forwarded the loan documents to ICICI bank & asked for updated bank statements till May 4, 2013. The updated bank statements were provided the same day. on May 8, 2013, I visited 7Drives office to check on the status & was met by Mr Manoj as Ms Patil was on leave. I was promised by him that he will follow up on the same.
I was contacted on May 13, 2013 by Ms Hena Ansari, ICICI Bank, who mentioned that he has received the loan application on May 12, 2013 from 7Drives and was asked for some more documents as apparently not all the necessary documents were collected by 7 Drives. The same was duly done as requested. The loan approval was further delayed as the first Address verification came negative as the family had gone out on the day. After the second address verification, the loan was declined by ICICI bank stating that the loan cannot be approved as the Applicant has married & has relocated from the address provided.
On explaining the same to Ms Ansari, ICICI Bank, I was asked for marriage certificate & further documents for the new address & was told that she will reinstate the same. At the same time I was told by Mr Sandeep Jha that now the car delivery will be delayed as the waiting time for the new bookings has increased to 2 months.
However on May 28, 2013 Ms Ansari, ICICI Bank called to inform that the loan computation given by Ms Patil, 7Drives is wrong and the bank is only offering loan at 10.5% interest rate.
I felt cheated & on calling Mr Sandeep Jha to inform the same, Mr Jha told me that the loan your loan was declined & 7 Drives is not responsible for that, very conveniently forgetting the finer details that it was the delay & wrong information provided by 7drives which caused the same. He also told me that I am the worst client he has come across with & he does not wish to do any business with me.
On this insult, I wrote to Mr Jha to cancel the booking & refund the booking charge on May 28, 2013. I was told that I will get my refund on June 2, 2013. However the refund cheque was delivered only on June 6, 2013 for INR 15,000 after following up continuously with Mr Jha. Mr Jha mentioned that INR 6,000 is deducted by Honda dealer and I will have to contact the dealership directly for the same. I have tried contacting Mr Jha again over the phone & also visited 7Drives office on June 8, 2013 to ask for the written details of the booking given to dealership but have not received any response.
I have contacted all Honda Dealers in Mumbai & all of them have informed me that they do not have booking cancellation charge for Honda Amaze. Also none of them have any records for any booking in the name of Unnati Shah.
Request your assistance in refund of INR 6,000 from 7Drives.
