Dear Sir / Madam,

I purchased, a refrigerator, on date - 3 May 2013,of Videocon Industries authorized dealer - Star Electricals and electronics - shop No. 2 - Gokul Height Building, Opposite Cambridge school, Thakur Complex, Kandivali East for Rs. 14,000/-. Exactly 28 days later my wife faced a big spark from the fridge which made her unconscious, because freezer section bulb and plate, forcefully, came to my wife's nose and hit hard. The Shop owner (Star Electronics and Electricals) refused to hear my plea in this regards, and asked me to get in touch with the company directly. I felt helpless. Immediately is rushed to the Samta Nagar Police Station – Kandivali East. I revealed my situation to them. And requested a FIR to be recorded. But I was refused by the officer - stating that this was under the purview of the Consumer Act, and at the most I can issue a non cognizable report (NC) for the same.
With this NC and a written letter,on the same day, i wrote to Videocon industries Limited, complaining on the supply of sub-standard quality of goods and requested a replacement with a new unit after proper inspection of the same. After a verbal promise, Videocon Industries Limited refused to heed my request. In these confrontation, i have invested 7 days of follow up and discussions. I feel humiliated, cheated and betrayed by the Videocon Industries Limited. I request the Honorable authority to take my grievance seriously and by the power vested to you help me entire money Rs. 14,000/- back including other expenses. I am attaching NC reports and my letter copy with correspondence to the person i have been communicating - Details - My first complaint registration number - MUM3105130535 - dated - 31 May 2013, on 022 39404040- Munaf Qureshi - Mobile Number- 7738371583.
