Dear Sir/Madam,
I wish to lodge a consumer complaint against "Axis Bank" for wrongly charging me Debit interest on my Credit Card for May-Jun'13 for delayed payment, which they agree was caused because of non delivery of Credit Card Statement by their courier company. They already reversed the Late payment fee but are not ready to reverse the debit interest charged for the same reason.
Since I did not receive my credit statement for Apr-May'13 (which becomes due 8th of every month) on inquiring with the bank on 18th they gave me the details and i made a online payment. At this time i asked them for any charges, but they asked me to call back after 1 week. After 1 week i called them again they gave me a name to whom the statement they say was delivered by the courier company. I told the bank about my family members and asked them to check if the person advised by their Courier company existed. Realizing their mistake they confirmed me on reversal of late payment fees by SMS a week later. However, on checking with their phone banking officer today 3rd Jul about my May-Jun statement i was told of some debit interest charges which they say cannot be reversed. I asked them if they accepted the mistake and reversed the late payment fees than why for same reason they cannot reverse the debit interest which has been charged and their call centre was not able to answer.
There Call centre was not ready to take my request and had hung up the phone.
