This is a complaint regarding Incorrect Meter Reading and Excessive Billing for my Consumer No. 217000000196.

I am a resident of Amaraboty Colony, Chabua Town under Tinsukia Electrical Division. I have received my Bill No. 1046854 for Reading Range 26/03/2013 to 01/06/2013 which seems to excessively billed in comparison to the usage made by me.

I have a consumption of 2 Electric CFL Bulbs, 2 Fans, 1 Television and 1 Domestic Water Pump which is run for 30 mins every 2 days as we are a family of 2 persons only. No other heavy power consuming appliances are used at my home. Apart from that I have been "Out of Town" for 20 days during this period which resulted "Zero Electric Consumption" as well.

My normal electric bill amount varies between Rs. 60 to Rs. 279 only. I have never faced such incorrect billing issues before this incident. There are even no instances of occasional extra electrical consumption at my house as well.

Under such circumstances, I believe that there must be some mistake in the Meter Reading or an Official Data Entry Mistake while preparing and processing of the bill.

As such I am extremely disappointed for such an irresponsible behavior shown by APDCL Team. I am a Retired Private Sector Employee and such a huge electric bill is extremely shocking and difficult to bear for me.

Hence I request you to kindly make an inquiry on the above issue and investigate on the billing details. Also kindly keep a check on such serious negligencies and adopt necessary preventive measures to discontinue such instances.
