I recently(13-07-2013) bought UBISLATE 7 C+ product. The instrument is malfunctioning and i totally a defect one.
Details of the DEFECT:
1.The keyboard SENSES of keys t 5 9 u p m sound volume reduction symbol and Main menu key are not functioning.
2.Also multiple applications near particular one which i was trying to access are getting activated which clearly is not my intended purpose.
3.Unlock key senses are not working.
I tried to contact these numbers ( 01832581330 183 5003020 ) several times for registering complaint but i have not received any response from their side.
I tried to post complaint in the site http://www.datawind.com/contact/index.html but suffered the same fate.
I even tried to reset the device to see any improved performances but the performance of the device remained the same.
I came to know about their refund policy through this link http://www.ubislate.com/refund/index.html. So i went accordingly as told in the policy but the email i sent to the address mentioned didn't get any reply.
Closed from all sides i resorted the Consumer Complaints Forum facility (Grahak Seva) to register the complaint. To my surprise i got a call that evening from one of your service personnel but the problem was not properly listened to and i was asked to go to the place (mentioned below) where products gets repaired.

I apart from having the unresolved issue with the product felt their service found wanting.
I raised different questions at the place i was asked to go with my product for repair for which i was provided with vague and rude response.
I went to the place where i was asked to go on 23rd july 2013. I told them about the defect in the product. I was directed to speak to Mr. Shashank who introduced himself as the head of the Testing facility. When asked by him to submit the product for reparation i told him that I don't want the product get repaired as i need REFUND for the product - reason being this is a NEW product and i don't want to use a repaired product from the outset as the fault in the product is not due to my handling but due to your manufacturing defect. For the above query i was asked to send an email to Mr. Pankaj Arora who they mentioned as head of the Technical Unit and Mr. Shashank. I hope the mail will stand representing my complaint and i'm still clinging on the trust factor to get the problem rectified.
At the service unit in the above mentioned address when asked about details of the person heading the unit his number for contact their designation and other details i was given with the reply that they are not authorized to share any details. Then when i asked for Mr.Shashank for his number for future contacts to follow up on my complaint he was not forthcoming to share his number.
I was baffled to note that before all these conversation the first thing he (Mr.Shashank) did was to dial up a Lawyer to keep their position of defense clear as i told them that i got the address to that place only after registering the complaint through consumer complaints forum. I even asked the lawyer's number to process my complaint but the reply was that they won't share any details. I was stranded as the money at stake is mine.
I was not given any proper reply till the end. Total indifference was their style of work it seems. As a customer and consumer of the product i need surety in the reply from the seller. All i was left at the end was wastage of time mental abuse and torture. As a last try i even asked them the number of days within which the query will be answered as i was just asked by him then to forward this email to Mr.Pankaj Arora and Mr.Shashank. And the answer i got was no different form any of the answer before.
All i noted all through the conversation was that they are trying to secure their position by dodging the queries of poor customers by keeping an advocate to rescue them in times of difficulty. All these things are very much visible blatantly. Not only me there were another 5/6 customers waiting to get their defect product repaired. Its not strange to find customers queued up to get their products repaired but what strange was the fact that the product they received has a recurring problem for which they have to come the next day only to be repaired again.
My voice is the collective voice of all the customers who suffered the same fate with the product right from the first day. I was made to run from pillar to post to find the solution yet i have found none. But i have all day month year to find a solution and result for all the indifference wry smirking smiles and haughty derisory remarks that the personnel at the Delhi service unit @ above mentioned address has made to me. I don't have a wee bit doubt that the others have faced the same situation like me as was told to me by one other customer who was working in the MEDIA.
I expect refund for my product but the trust i placed in DATAWIND got shattered from the response i received from your service personnel located at the place.
