Complaint Details
I use a Vodafone Prepaid Mobile Number 9828313540. I am a 80 year old man and rarely use the Mobile except while Traveling.
Recently Vodafone activated an internet plan on my mobile without seeking my permission.
As per the plan I was being charged daily 9 Rs although I never requested for any Internet service as I do not use it.
My mobile is a very old Nokia Mobile which does not even support Internet, Then why will I activate Internet on my Mobile.
I noticed this when the balance Amount on my Mobile drastically reduced from 53 Rs to 26 Rs when only 1 short duration call had been done from the Phone.
I called up Customer Care and was told about the internet service pack activated on my Mobile number. When I told them that I have not requested them for the same they said you can deactivate the same but no charges will be refunded back to you.
I even asked the executive to verify as nothing has been done from my end and also I have not used Internet at all To which they verified that no Internet has been used during the period but they cannot revert the charges but can only stop the services.
On further questioning about the service I was told that I had dialled a special number *444*9# which activates internet services on my Mobile.
I checked my dialled calls and all SMS's but didnt found the mentioned number.
Vodafone company wrongfully has activated the service on my Mobile number and have charged me heavily for the same even though I have not done the same.
My balance has come down to 0 from Rs 53 within 6 days.
Please help me get my money back and tell Vodafone stop charging people wrongly by such cheap revenue earning tactics.
