On 29.08.13 I booked 2 rooms at Shillong,one in my name(Trip ID 1307293991)for Rs.6894.00 and another in my wife Mohua Das's name, TripID1307294172)for Rs.8144.00 from 23.10.13 to 26.10.13.Due to disturbances in NE for state-hood I decided to cancel the trip and called Cleartrip customer support for cancellation and was told that the booking is non-refundable. E-mailing them also elicited the same response. I called up the hotel 'Cafe Shillong Bed & Breakfast'(8974066089) for refund who said that Cleartrip did not pay them anything.Why should I be deprived of Rs.15000.00 when I have intimated cancellation more than 50 days before reservation day, and can they take resort of the fine print of non-refundable booking which I may have overlooked?
