Dear sir,

My electric connection number is 07196005214.Last year we had a problem with our meter and when I was informed that the meter is defective I went and met the JE and gave a written complaint to change the defective meter and he assured me that it would be changed as soon as possible but they never turned up for more than six months, during this time I was away with my mother for medication in Kerala (mother is bed ridden)when I returned I took up the issue with JE again and within that month my meter was changed, and JE asked me to pay fine for defective billing and I explained to him that it was their mistake though I brought the same to the knowledge of JE, he told me that only this time I have to bear with the burden next time it will not be repeated. The next month of installing the new meter there was heavy downpour and thunder and the meter suddenly went in flames (not only me so many houses reported the same) when I brought the same to knowledge of JE he asked me to pay for new meter and when I explained it was a natural happening he said that everyone should pay for the same and I paid. Yesterday when I checked to pay my current bill it was showing the arrears of Rs.1886, which I could not believe, when I went and met JE again I simply got the explanation that this arrears was considered keeping in view of the time when the defective meter was there. Sir, I personally feel that it is inhumane, because I reported the matter when the meter was defective and the department failed to take action when reminded they took action only after I paid the fine (which was not my fault) again I am asked to pay a hefty amount for a mistake which I have not done. I am for a BPL family, and I personally feel that I am targeted unnecessarily, hence may I kindly request your kind self to remove this unnecessary tariff from my account.
