Complaint Details
This is regarding the motorised treadmill (Sportrack VFT 415 model) I purchased on 9th Nov 2011 for INR 32,500. I am attaching the invoice for your reference.
I would like to complain about the supplier – who sold a substandard product to me. Since I have purchased the same, I have been facing regular complaints – regarding the card, motor.
In the first month of purchase itself, the display board and the electronic control card had to be changed since it was malfunctioning and not working.
Warranty for the machine is for 1 year and the warranty of the motor is for 2 years (still in warranty)
Due to constant repairs and malfunctions, the machine downtime has been 10-15 days for each repair. I have also paid INR 2,200 for a card malfunction that happened in September 2013.
On October 12th, while I was using this machine, tremendous amount of smoke started bellowing out of the machine and I immediately stopped the machine and switched it off. When their maintenance personnel visited, he mentioned that the motor got burnt and can be replaced or re-winded.
Since the machine was in warranty, I called up the owner of this company, Mr. Praveen Nagpal (mobile no: 9311130320) and asked him to replace my motor (within warranty) and not rewind the same. He told me that the motor did not get burnt and just got jammed - which I was doubtful about.
They installed the repaired motor back on 19th Oct 2013- and when I used the machine next time on 21st Oct 2013, there was an electrical shorting and smoke witin the machine- and the electricity for the whole house got tripped.
I have been constantly trying to call them- but of no avail. I had no other option but to call the supplier (Owner, Mr. Praveen Nagpal) – since their machines are imported- and the spares have to be procured only by them but he in turn refuses to act supportive in this regard and there is a feeling within me that they are deliberately postponing this affair in order to ensure that the warranty is void after 9th November 2013.
In the last 23 months itself, my machine has malfunctioned on more than 8 occasions. They have supplied me with substandard/inferior product – and I feel harassed because of the same.
My serious concern about this machine extends to the fact that with such a faulty machine wherein the motor itself got burnt, could have caused serious injury to life and property!
I request you to intervene and get this machine replaced from the supplier as also ask them to compensate for the harassment caused to me by them. I also request you to take appropriate action against the supplier (cancellation of the import license/license to sell sports equipment).
Looking forward to your prompt and urgent action in this regard, considering my warranty lasts until 9th November 2013 only.
