my son mohit massey was travelling to newark via brussels today by a flight at 2.05 am on august 31, 2015 and he reached airport at 11.45 pm well withon the time. The girl at the counter was ill mannered and she told me to take two of my sons study book out or else pay 200 USD for extra weight. My son suggested that he will carey the books in his hands as he has to study anyway. The ladybatbthebreception was insisting that my son pay's the extra bagage allowance which my son told me as i was outside the airport. I advised my son to pay the money and proceed. My son escalated the matter to supervisor saying that he intervenes so that merely die to two extra boods he was not required to pay 200 usd. Then my son returned to the counter after requestibg the supervisor but by this time it was 12.45 am and now the counter girl said she has offloaded my son as rhe flight was over booked. She did not inform my son that she had done this in the absence when my son went to the supervisor. My son made the superviosor mr yogesh and ms tarana speak to me and i explained to them that since my sonnwas in time they could not have given my sons confirmed seat which was already slected through web checkin to anither person whwn my son was already atbthe airport.
Over bolking flight and alloting a confirmed seat to another peraon before the due time and specially when my son was already at the counter and having had discussion with all. Earlier once Mr Naresh Goayal has sent me an appology letter for jet having over booked and cancelled my flight. Niw it has happened with my son that too despite all compliance.
This is anti competotive practice and against customers flying long distances and paying large money despite such business practice.
I want you to get this matter investigated to see why may son was offloaded. Is there favoratism due to which the counter person off liaded mu son. Why supervisor could not take coreective action. My son has been sent to london without boarding pass of london to newark. This uncertainity is too big for long distance traveller and that too a student.
I am marking this complaint to ministry of consumer affairs and competition commission of india besides ministry of covil aviation and DGCA.
I would want a reply within a week failibg which i qould be forcwd to seek other legal recourse.
Utterly dissappointed consumer of a customwr unfriendly airline.
