Complaint Details
IDBI put a partial freeze on my account for 48hrs while I was on an official trip abroad. I couldn't access my bank account for 2 days and for two days I was without any money. This caused me a great deal of embarassment as well as stress.

The reason IDBI told be was because they didn't have my KYC documents. This is a very absurd reason because I had submitted by documents two weeks before and 4 days before the deadline. Also, while submitting the documents, I had checked with the branch if there will be any action in case of delays. They said that there won't be any and that they never block accounts because of this.

It will surprise you to know that I have been operating this account at IDBI for 5yrs now.

I was on a work related trip to Spain.
Lack of money caused a lot of embarassment because I had to borrow money from my colleagues from the international office.
It caused me a lot of stress and I couldn't focus on the work for which I had made this trip.
This has resulted in negative and unprofessional impression of me.
I had to travel many kilometers away and stay at a friends house because I couldn't pay for my hotel stay. As a result, on my way to the airport, I had to spend 160 Euros on taxi fare from my friends place directly to the airport.
